Building the Education Revolution
SCAC Bega Campus are excited to announce that they have obtained a number of grants under the Building the Education Revolution scheme recently introduced by the NSW Government. We were delighted to learn that $850 000 was granted under the Primary Schools for the 21st Century category while a further $150 000 was awarded under the National School Pride Program.
Construction of the new Performing Arts space is complete with staff and students thrilled with the results. The second project, a multi purpose hall and gymnasium for Junior School is currently out to tender and will be started in the near future.
NAB's Schools First Program
Congratulations to the Southern Campus for recently winning a $25 000 grant under the Schools First Seed Funding award from the National Australia Bank's Schools First Program.
The funding will be used to continue the work and relationships that the students have with residents at nearby Mariner Park Retirement Village and Hostel. The students will be filming a mini documentary based on the life story of the residents as well as continue their regular trips to visit their friends at the retirement village.
We are extremely excited about the grant and very proud of our students for the work and compassion that they have to develop these relationships.
