Secondary - Years 7 - 12

The Secondary school is located at the Bega Campus and offers a broad curriculum based on the key learning areas.

Years 7 to 10 are structured to meet both the academic and developmental needs of students in their transition to early adulthood.

In Year 7 students are supported in their first year of secondary schooling through the Integrated Studies Program. This program incorporates English, History, Geography and Personal Development in a thematic approach over a longer time frame than other subjects – thereby facilitating less change and greater pastoral oversight. Other mandatory core subjects include Mathematics, Science, Technology, Music, Art, Physical Education, French and Christian Studies.

In Year 8 - a core program of English, Mathematics, Science, Personal Development Health and Physical Education, History and Geography, Technology and Christian Studies is then offered, as well as the first of 3 elective choices becoming available.

In Years 9 and 10 - the subjects include, English, Mathematics, Science, Geography and History, Personal Development Health and Physical Education and Christian Studies make up the mandatory core subjects. An expanded range of electives make up the subjects offered at this stage as students approach their School Certificate in Year 10.

Acceleration- Students may accelerate to higher levels in some subjects if they display a high level of proficiency.

Years 11 and 12- HSC including Vocational Pathways

Years and 11 & 12 encompass a breadth of learning. The College aims to cater for a wide range of students’ needs and abilities through offering a broad range of subject choices. Students will be prepared for tertiary entrance to University, TAFE,Registered Training Organisations, or entry directly into the workforce.

Some subjects may vary year to year depending on demand and staffing and some subjects may be carried out using Distance Education.

The College also offers Vocational Education Training programs in Hospitality and Tourism allowing students to obtain an external qualification offered by TAFE.

It is expected that students will be able to access the flexible curriculum patterns offered under guidelines developed by the NSW Board of Studies. Some students have the option of completing their HSC program over 3 years rather than 2 years.
